چکیده

The process of estimating the effect a changing climate on severity future ocean storms is plagued by large uncertainties; for safe design and operation offshore structures, it nevertheless important that best possible estimates effects made given available data. We explore variability in 100-year return value significant wave height (HS), changes over period time, output WAVEWATCH-III models from 7 representative Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP) Phase 5 General Circulation Models (GCMs), FIO-ESM v2.0 CMIP 6 GCM. Non-stationary extreme analysis peaks-over-threshold block maxima using Bayesian inference provide posterior values as function time; MATLAB software provided. Best overall values, 1979-2100, are calculated averaging individual GCMs. focus attention neighbourhoods locations east Madagascar south Australia where previous study CMIP5-derived reported decrease increase HS respectively, under Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) scenarios RCP4.5 RCP8.5. There variation between different GCMs, with longitude latitude within each neighbourhood based samples corresponding to ≤ 165 years model output; these sources uncertainty tend be larger than those due typical modelling choices (such choice threshold peaks threshold, or length maxima). However, we also find careful critical Madagascar, because presence mixed population there. Nevertheless, there general evidence supporting trends others, but findings conditional 8 GCMs being evolution. use simple randomisation testing identify “significant” departures steady climate. long 700-year pre-industrial control (piControl) CMIP6 GCM offers an excellent opportunity quantify apparent inherent estimated subsample continuous time interval 20 160 length, no forcing present. approximately ±15% periods around 50 drawn piControl

100-Year Return Value Estimates for Ocean Wind Speed and Significant Wave Height from the ERA-40 Data

In this article global estimates of 100-yr return values of wind speed and significant wave height are presented. These estimates are based on the ECMWF 40-yr Re-Analysis (ERA-40) data and are linearly corrected using estimates based on buoy data. This correction is supported by global Topographic Ocean Experiment (TOPEX) altimeter data estimates. The calculation of return values is based on th...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

“the effect of risk aversion on the demand for life insurance: the case of iranian life insurance market”

abstract: about 60% of total premium of insurance industry is pertained?to life policies in the world; while the life insurance total premium in iran is less than 6% of total premium in insurance industry in 2008 (sigma, no 3/2009). among the reasons that discourage the life insurance industry is the problem of adverse selection. adverse selection theory describes a situation where the inf...
